Hamad International Airport (HIA) Launched new iBeacon enabled mobile app on Saturday March 05 2016. To provide support to the passengers travelling through Hamad International Airport. In the world only few Airports using this iBeacon Application. 

The main purpose of the application is wayfinding and detailed information about the airport promotional offers, flight status, baggage claim, direction to boarding gates, Restaurants details.

At present iBeacon app available only IOS based devices. iBeacon system working method is scan the boarding pass and it will show update information about flight status, baggage claim, time and direction to boarding gate the app will provide most of the information required by a passenger.  

In the second quarter of this year roadmap will be added to this application. Total 700 Bluetooth iBeacon installed in HIA, this application will help the passengers to know their real time location in the airport, also they can easily know how long to take to reach their desired location in the airport. This app is very helpful to the transit passengers and newly arrived persons. The app alert the outlet promotions when the passengers are walking past the outlets.
